Alumni of the Month – Dana Cohen
Hi, my name is Dana Cohen (Aardvark 2014) from Fulton, Maryland.
Scared, nervous, hesitant, and fearful. That’s what I felt upon graduation. I had mentally prepared myself to going to ASU but my mom had mentioned a trip that sounded too good to be true. A gap year in Israel where I get to explore the country, see historical sites of Jerusalem, and meet unforgettable people. Without hesitating, I applied and a couple months later, I touched down in Tel Aviv. All that fear I had upon coming completely dissipated once I got into the groove of the program. I learned how to surf, wakeboard, drive ATVs, and speak (a little) Hebrew. Not to mention, I had THE BEST meals a girl could dream of. I made some of the best life memories and friends in Israel, and I plan to come back very soon for my next adventure.
Right now, I’m in sunny San Diego as a news writer for ‘One America.’ I write breaking news stories both nationally and internationally – mainly on political happenings. I also manage any media for a Baltimore Mayoral Candidate. I have just one last semester to finish at the University of Maryland where I’ll be working full time on a student-run show, CNS.
In the near future, I plan to move to the nation’s capital to report on the White House as a correspondent. My dream goal would be to interview any sitting U.S. president. Until then, I will continue to make my parents proud and hopefully land a job post-graduation!
