Hello Parents and Students,

This week was very exciting with new apartments and new experiences!

We started the week with a community discussion. We talked about how we are forming a community, about what we have built since the semester began, the things we’re looking forward to building together in the future, and how we can get there.

On Monday, the big move arrived, and after a long day of finishing up packing, cleaning, and arranging, we were finally able to move to the new apartments located in the Florentin neighborhood.

On Tuesday, we traveled to the area of the Jerusalem mountains and Beit Shemesh. We enjoyed a hike in the Katlav Valley in the Judean Mountains of Israel and a great experience in a stalactite cave.

Camryn Pillar wrote about her experience:

“On Tueday, we hiked through a railroad that used to go through Jerusalem. It was really interesting to learn about the new train system and how much faster it is. Now it only takes 45 minutes to get from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, versus four hours (which is what it used to take). This is really relevant because of how often my friends and I go to Jerusalem. We also visited the caves of Netifim. They are stalactite caves and were really unique to see. It didn’t even look real. There were icicle-like formations made of soft lime stones. It was so cool.”

Wednesday started with a wellness morning. The students chose between three different options to start the day. The first option was a session on mindfulness. They took part in different activites to start the day in a calm and relaxing way. Another option was an intense workout with Yoav, and the third option was a yoga session with Stav, Netta, and a yoga instructor
