I decided to come on a gap year because I felt like I wanted to come to college with a better sense of who I am, and what my interests are. I also felt like I wanted to come to college with a greater sense of independence and maturity. I specifically chose to come to Israel because I love this country and I wanted to learn more about it and connect with Israeli society and culture, especially because I would like to advocate for Israel and for the Jewish people moving forward. Personally, I felt like Aardvark Israel would be perfect for me because of the significant level of freedom I would have to explore Israel on my own, as well as a comfortable level of structured programming and classes. In addition, I was very interested in the combination of college-level courses and internships.
I am interning at a start-up called HYGEAR where I am working with the COO on day-to-day operations.
