gap year in israel

My name is Mayra Yohai, but I go by May. I’m from Buenos Aires, Argentina and I went to an art school who calls Aula 21.

I chose to do a Gap Year because I wanted to know what my life would be like in another country, I wanted to meet new people and challenge myself by getting out of my comfort zone and my facilities, and grow personally. Then, I came across Aardvark Israel, which seemed like it covered a bit of everything I wanted to do in this period of time.

I’m doing my internship at a vintage and second-hand clothing brand Chen Galdan, as an assistant I do a little bit of everything, from wrapping orders to fixing a button. I am learning a lot about circular fashion, which is something that interests me a lot.

When the program ends, I’m going to stay a few more months in Israel with my family here and live a little more from day to day in Israel.

Fun fact: I enjoy art in all possible facets but I love making music.
