My name is Navah Crouse, I am 19 years old and I’m from South Africa.
I recently spent the past 5 months on the Aardvark Israel gap year program. Originally I never planned to go on a gap year, instead, I was going to study in Israel. However, after much thought, I decided to take a gap year to experience freedom and independence in Israel, as well as get an idea of what it is like to live and work in Israel.
These past 5 months I had the opportunity to volunteer at the Ichilov Hospital in Tel Aviv, meet friends from around the world, interact with Israelis and eat the most amazing food ever. I look forward to spending the next 5 months on Aardvark for the Fall Semester.
Aardvark offered a plus program to attend a Summer Camp in America. I jumped at the opportunity to work with the kids and abroad outside of Israel. I am a general counselor and get to work hands-on with the kids and look after their daily needs.
Fun fact: next year I will draft into the army (hoping to draft as a sniper)
