gap year in israel

Check out our social media to see what our students have been up to this past week!

My name is Oren Asayag-Asaf and I’m from Miami, Florida and used to attend Aaron’s David Posnack Jewish Day School. I chose to go on a gap year because I start college in January and there’s no place I’d rather be other than Israel. I specifically chose Aardvark Israel because it is a program that allows you to be independent while also keeping you in check, which is a great way to practice for life in college.

I’m currently interning at Save A Child’s Heart, which is a non-profit organization that brings in and treats children from ages 0-18 with congenital heart defects & diseases from countries in Africa .The children are mainly from Zanzibar, Ethiopia, Tanzania, etc..

Fun fact: My favorite color is orange 🙂
