Shalom, parents and students!

It’s the first week of the semester, and the students have been settling into their apartments and getting to know the neighborhood. Along with several orientation sessions, our students went to Shuk Machane Yehuda in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv’s Levinsky Market to try out the local food, because really, how can you not? It’s Israel, after all!

Our Tel Aviv communities went biking on the promenade and got to know their madrichim a little better, as they set group and individual goals for the semester.

Later this week, we traveled to Nachal Ha’Kibutzim, one of Israel’s most well-known water trails, where we got to cool off on another hot summer day. The students then visited Katef Shaul, where they learned about Israel’s connection with this place, and enjoyed the beautiful view from the observatory.

Our students are already living like locals and the Jerusalem students had a cookout up on their building rooftop, right after they finished decorating their apartments and making their own door signs.

Last but definitely not least, students from our Levontin community enjoyed a community dinner at the Florentina restaurant, right by their home. This weekend, our communities will go on their first Shabbat Be’Yachad, (Shabbat together) where they will have Kabalat Shabbat, Limud, and Havdallah.

Have a wonderful weekend and Shabbat Shalom,

Yifat
